Dear Friends and Family:

As this New Year begins there are hopeful new beginnings! I would like to invite you to join me on a new journey to good health, while helping others. For some time now I've wanted to lose weight, but have lacked the drive and commitment. I'm starting fresh and ready to work hard, not only for myself, but others. In my new weight loss campaign, I'm asking friends and family to help me help hungry children. From Jan. 17^th – May 25^th I'm asking friends and family to pledge $1 per pound. At the end of my “campaign” all money will be donated to Compassion International to help feed hungry children!

Compassion International was founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952. Compassion began by providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 26 countries. I have created a blog and will be sending out weekly emails. The blog will be updated with pictures, good recipes and world hunger information. I hope you will join me in my pursuit of health and giving as I enjoy a healthier life while helping provide others with much needed food!
